TRAINING: Active Shooter Training – Big Island

The University of Hawaii at Hilo has extended an offer to RCUH employees located on the Big Island to participate in an Active Shooter Training.  Please refer to the University of Hawaii at Hilo’s announcement below.

The Hawai’i Police Department will present an Active Shooter presentation to educate staff and faculty on the current trends in dealing with an Active Shooter and reactions to expect from the public based on informational campaigns, and provide additional resources to help in making the best decisions for our campus community.

Date: Thursday, April 14, 2016
Time: 12:00 noon to 1:30 pm
Place: UCB 127

Topics include:

  • Increasing survivability when encountering an active shooter or other types of violent situations.
  • Mass violence: previous and recent incidents; best practices.
  • Understanding law enforcement’s response.
  • Working together to prevent such events.

Brown bag lunch is recommended.
