Types of RCUH Projects

Once you receive your award or grant, there are generally four types of projects that can be service ordered to RCUH.

UH Extramural Projects

Service-ordered projects funded externally through federal, state, or private contracts and grants.

UH Intramural Projects

Service-ordered projects funded externally through federal, state, or private contracts and grants.

  1. Policy 1.200 University of Hawai’i Intramural Projects
  2. Internal Service Order Form (with UH approval) required for:
    • New intramural account request
    • Account update (e.g., extension, additional funds, PI change)
    • Account closeout

UH Special Fund Research Recharge Center (SRRC)

Self-sustaining, income generating projects that provide goods or services to support contracts, grants or other sponsored agreements and intramurally funded activities on an ongoing basis primarily for UH affiliated customers. SRRC accounts are automatically fed into the RCUH Financial Portal.

Direct Projects

Non-University of Hawai‘i (UH) projects, typically with a government department/agency or private entity, or to function as the direct recipient of a sponsored award. There are three types of Direct Projects:
