RCUH Policy Changes – Effective January 1, 2014

Effective January 1, 2014, we have implemented the following significant changes to our policies:

 

Current

New (effective 1/1/2014)

Six (6) month new hire/job probationary period

Twelve (12) month new hire/job probationary period (no extensions will be allowed)

Three (3) month benefits probationary period

Removal of three (3) month benefits probation period

Vacation/Sick Leave cannot be used until employee passes three (3) month benefit probationary period

Vacation/Sick Leave is available to employee on the first day of the pay period after accrual

Group Insurances (Life, Long Term Care and Long Term Disability Insurances) start after employee passes three (3) month benefit probation period

Group Insurances (Life, Long Term Care and Long Term Disability Insurances) to start on the first day of the following month from date of hire (this will affect the fringe benefit rate for all eligible employees)

·         Policy 3.005 New Hire Orientation

 

·         Policy 3.264 RCUH Probationary Period

 

·         Policy 3.360 Performance Based Compensation

 

·         Policy 3.501 Benefit Summary for Regular Employees

 

·         Policy 3.540 RCUH Group Life Insurance

 

·         Policy 3.545 RCUH Long-Term Care Insurance

 

·         Policy 3.570 RCUH Long-Term Disability Insurance

 

·         Policy 3.620 RCUH Vacation Leave

 

·         Policy 3.640 RCUH Sick Leave

 

Policy 3.660 Family Leave has also been revised and have taken effect on January 1, 2014. Below are highlights of the changes in policy:

 

Ø  Twelve (12) month period: Calendar Year

 

Ø  Administration of Sick Leave/Vacation/Intermittent Leave for specific situations

 

Ø  Revised approval forms

 

Ø  Requirement for Job Physical Analysis upon return to work for an employee own Serious Health Condition 

 

Please refer to the individual policies for specific information and changes. All policies have been updated and have taken effect on January 1, 2014.
