RCUH HR INFORMATION ONLY – COMING SOON: 2020 RCUH Benefit Open Enrollment Period is May 4-15, 2020

RCUH’s 2020 Benefit Open Enrollment period will take place starting Monday, May 4th through Friday, May 15th, 2020.

** NEW: Employee Self-Service (ESS) Benefits Summary Updates:

The Benefits Summary Page in Employee Self-Service (ESS) will be enhanced by early May to provide more information about the employee benefits you are enrolled in. Additional fields will include employee and employer cost and frequency of deductions. This additional information will assist with your personal budgeting and financial planning.

All Open Enrollment informational materials such as monthly premium rate sheets, enrollment forms, carrier videos (i.e., HMSA, Kaiser, HDS, NBS), Summary of Benefit Coverages, and additional materials will be available through Employee Self-Service (ESS) > Benefits Summary Panel starting May 4. If you need assistance logging in to your ESS, please contact RCUH HR Information Systems.

Why is Open Enrollment important? The Open Enrollment period is when you can enroll or make certain changes to your benefits. Outside of the Open Enrollment period, changes to these benefits can only be made through a qualifying life event. All enrollments and changes made during Open Enrollment will have an effective start date of July 1, 2020 through June 30, 2021.

Open Enrollment Changes:

  • Health and/or Dental Enrollments/Change Plans/Add Dependents
  • Re-enroll/Enroll in FSA (Flexible Spending Account) Healthcare
  • Re-enroll/Enroll in FSA (Flexible Spending Account) Dependent Care
  • Update Life Insurance Maximum Amount (reduce coverage amount or increase up to default coverage of 2x annual salary not to exceed $600,000)
  • Enroll/Add Spouse to Supplemental Long-Term Care Insurance

This year, medical premium rates will be increasing between 7-11% from last year, depending on the plan. There will be no rate change for the dental plan. Given the current health climate, it is critical to take into consideration all aspects of each plan. While the monthly medical premium cost is important, you should consider other factors such as deductibles, coverage amounts for serious illness or hospitalization, total out of pocket expenses, and potential savings with FSA Healthcare and Dependent Care. Please review our current benefits located on our rcuh.com website under RCUH Policies and Procedures, 3.500 Benefits, to better assist you for this Open Enrollment 2020-2021.

Please note: For employees who are currently enrolled or wish to enroll in Healthcare FSA (Flexible Spending Account) and/or Dependent Care FSA, you are required to reapply every plan year (during this open enrollment period). For more information about Flexible Spending Accounts, please refer to our policy 3.530 RCUH Flexible Spending Plan or reference the What is a Flexible Spending Account (FSA)? flyer.

RCUH Employees waiving health benefits this Open Enrollment, including those currently waiving, must submit the RCUH Group Health Waiver Form to RCUH Human Resources as an agreement that he/she is still opting to waive health coverage at this time. Even if you have previously waived medical coverage with RCUH, a new waiver MUST be submitted if you are waiving the offer of medical coverage for the plan year 2020-2021 or corrective action may occur.
