Amendment #2 to RCUH Request for Proposals (RFP) No. CS2022-1

On July 1, 2022, the Research Corporation of the University of Hawaii issued RFP No. CS2022-1, “Designing, Furnishing, and Installing Functional Workspaces for the Relocation of RCUH Offices from the University of Hawaiʻi Mānoa Innovation Center to East-West Center Burns Hall.” And issued Amendment #1 on July 7, 2022.

We hereby issue this Amendment #2, by revising the following:

Section 2 – Statement of Work

  • p. 9, 5th paragraph (revisions are underlined)

From:    It is our intent to utilize existing HON (Accelerate and Abound) furnishings—under 7 years old—at MIC, where possible, and to purchase new furnishings for Burns as needed. Existing furnishings will need to be dismantled, transported to Burns, and reassembled. New furnishings, if approved by RCUH, will need to be ordered, delivered, and installed.

To:          It is our intent to utilize existing HON (Accelerate and Abound) furnishings—under 7 years old—at MIC, where possible, and to purchase new modular furnishings for Burns as needed. Existing modular furnishings will need to be dismantled, transported from MIC to Burns, and reassembled. From:    The Offeror must dismantle existing MIC furnishings that can be utilized, transport pieces to Burns, and reassemble. The Offeror must also dismantle and dispose of existing Burns Hall furnishings that are to be replaced.

If any new furnishings are approved for purchase, the Offeror must order, deliver, and install the furnishings.

To:          If the Offeror submits a proposal that includes utilizing new modular furnishings, then the Offeror must order, deliver, and install the furnishings after they are approved for purchase. The Offeror must also dismantle and dispose of existing Burns Hall modular furnishings that are to be replaced. RCUH reserves the right to reconsider the dismantle and dispose task if the proposed cost is prohibitive, or the East-West Center, another tenant or organization would like to acquire the materials; the accepting organization will then be responsible for all costs of dismantling, transportation, and reassembly.

If the Offeror submits a proposal that includes utilizing existing HON modular furnishings, then in addition to above, the Offeror must dismantle existing MIC furnishings that can be utilized, transport pieces to Burns, and reassemble.

Section 3 – Proposal Requirements

  4. Disposal of Replaced Furnishings
  5. Installation Services
  6. Freight/Delivery (New Furnishings)
  7. Hawaii General Excise Tax
  8. Total Include estimated arrival date of goods in Honolulu, Hawaii. The price shall remain valid for 90 days after proposal date.

To:          RCUH is not a participant in the NASPO contract. Your favorable pricing to state and local government agencies is appreciated.

Please present a proposal for providing and installing new modular furnishings for the following rooms:

  • 4028, 4037, 4041, 4047 one-person offices, door on left
  • 4045 one-person office, door on right
  • 4022, 4042, 4070 two-persons offices, door on right
  • 4023, 4032, 4044, 4071 two-persons offices, door on left
  • 4046 three-persons office

In addition, please provide a separate proposal for ONE of the options below:

a. OPTION A: Provide and install only new modular furnishing for the following rooms:

  • 4007 three-persons office
  • 4008 two-persons office (build-out)

b. OPTION B: Utilize existing modular furniture from MIC 201 and provide new modular furnishings as needed for the following rooms:

  • 4007 three-persons office
  • 4008 two-persons office (build-out)

The proposal(s) shall be priced by:

a. Product Quote By Room (Model Number/Description/Quantity/List Price/Discounted Price, if any/Extension)

b. Design Services

c. Dismantling and Delivery of Existing Modular Furnishings (applies only to OPTION B)

d. Dismantling and Disposal of Replaced Furnishings at Burns

e. Installation Service

f. Freight/Delivery of New Modular Furnishings

g. Hawaii General Excise Tax

h. Total

Include estimated arrival date of goods in Honolulu, Hawaii.
