Effective September 1, 2026, the backcountry rate for RCUH employees has increased and changed from $20 per day (divided by Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner meals) to $30 per day. Backcountry travel is defined as an overnight stay in remote areas where commercial lodging and food establishments are not available (i.e., camping in mountainous areas).
