A Qualifying Life Event is a change in an employee’s situation that makes them eligible for a Special Enrollment Period, allowing them to enroll in health insurance outside of RCUH’s annual Open Enrollment Period.
Deadline:
You have 30 days from the Qualifying Life Event to submit your Health Enrollment and Change Form.
Effective Date:
Health Enrollment Forms (along with required supporting documentation) must be received no later than the 20th of the month prior to the effective date of coverage. For example, for August coverage, the Health Enrollment and Change Form must be received by RCUH by July 20th.
Premium Collections:
Employee premium collections are deducted once a month during the second pay period of the month (16th - end of the month) for the next month's premium. For example, August premiums are collected during pay period: July 16-31 and deduction is reflected on an employee's pay stub on August 7th pay day.
