Suspicious emails using RCUH staff names or accounts

Please be aware that a number of spear phishing emails are circulating, purporting to be from staff at RCUH ([email protected]).  They may contain different subject lines and advise that your account has been hacked and that you should send payment via Bitcoin to a specified account.  There may be other variants of these types of spear phishing emails.

Please exercise caution when opening emails and clicking on links within the messages, especially if they appear questionable or out of the ordinary.  We recommend that you call the sender to verify the legitimacy of any questionable emails.

RCUH will not send email requests for information about your finances, payroll, or other personally identifiable information (e.g., social security number, home address, passwords, etc.).  If you receive an email from RCUH requesting this type of information, please contact the RCUH Human Resources Department at 956-3100.

You may also contact RCUH Corporate Services at 988-8314/8315 or [email protected].

Active Shooter Training (via HITS) – January 16, 2019

In 2017, the U.S. recorded 30 active shooter incidents with 138 fatalities, a 17-year high according to the FBI. With these occurrences happening more frequently, it’s important to know how to react and prepare for an active shooter event, which can happen anywhere, at any time.

RCUH has scheduled an Active Shooter Training session, to be conducted by the FBI, on Wednesday, January 16, 2019, 10:00 AM  to 11:30 AM via HITS:

  • UH Manoa [in-person]
  • Honolulu Community College
  • IFA Hilo
  • IFA Manoa
  • Kapi’olani Community College
  • Kaua‘i Community College
  • Leeward Community College
  • UH Cancer Center
  • UH Hilo
  • UH Maui College
  • Windward Community College

Please join us for this informative presentation and learn how to prepare and respond should such a situation confront us.  To register, please visit the RCUH Training Portal. Click here for instructions on how to register for an in-person training upon logging in. Seats are limited, and the session will not be recorded.  Should you have any questions, please email [email protected] or call (808) 988-8314/8315.

Individuals who require special needs accommodations may request assistance in writing to [email protected] prior to the scheduled training.
